It looks like an official latte.
I started really laying down the code for the app Krista and I are working on today. I’m excited! It’s cool to see something come together this fast and begin to work.
So far I’m learning a ton about what does and doesn’t work as far as planning and design. We’ve decided to go the way of Gus Mueller of Flying Meat and say WWPD (What Would Panic Do?) by following Cabel Sasser’s recommendation and mocking up our UI in Photoshop before trying to code it. This really works! It’s also great, because this way Krista and I can be equally involved in UI decisions since we’re not using Interface Builder for the app. Check out Cabel’s talk at at C4[1] about design if you haven’t already: Coda Confidential by Cabel Sasser.
Speaking of Flying Meat, I’ve been using VooDoo Pad to sort of connect my code visually through links and descriptions. Seeing how my classes should interact this way has made coding a lot easier so far.
On a side note, our office has the best espresso machine ever and giving Krista disapproving looks whenever she gets tea is highly amusing.
